The MSC Hamburg Ladies Open and EDEKA continue their partnership

EDEKA remains the nutrition partner for women's tennis!

The MSC Hamburg Ladies Open (19th to 26th July 2026) will bring world-class women's tennis to Rothenbaum for the sixth time in a row. Present since 2021: EDEKA. As the exclusive partner in the food retail sector, EDEKA is once again supporting the sporting event this year with its core competencies: a love of food and a wide variety of products.

The long-standing partnership between the MSC Hamburg Ladies Open and EDEKA is entering its next round: Together with the Allwörden bakery, EDEKA will once again be present throughout the entire tournament at Rothenbaum with fruit, own-brand products, and baked goods. With offers like these, Germany's leading food retailer underscores its goal of promoting a balanced diet in conjunction with sporting activities. Special highlight this year: Thursday of the tournament (23rd July) will be EDEKA Ladies Day. On this day, female visitors receive a 15 percent discount on admission (valid in all categories).

„EDEKA and sport have gone hand in hand for many years. A balanced diet is an essential basis for athletic performance – in both elite and grassroots sports. That's why we are committed to sport and its diversity at both a national and regional level. We are delighted to once again be supporting the MSC Hamburg Ladies Open as a nutrition partner,“ says Markus Mosa, Chairman of the EDEKA ZENTRALE Stiftung & Co. KG.

„We are very pleased to continue to have EDEKA by our side. EDEKA is not only an important and long-standing partner for our tournament, but also a significant supporter of sporting diversity in Hamburg. Together, we can further increase the visibility and appreciation for women's sport,“ says Tournament Director Sandra Reichel about the partnership.

EDEKA – Germany's most successful entrepreneur initiative

The profile of the medium-sized, cooperative-led EDEKA group is based on the successful interplay of three levels: Nationwide, around 3,200 independent retailers give EDEKA its face. At the retail level, they act as local suppliers, representing quality food and enjoyment. They are supported by seven regional wholesale companies, which deliver fresh goods to EDEKA stores daily and also provide support on everything from sales to expansion. The coordination of EDEKA's strategy takes place at EDEKA's headquarters in Hamburg. This steers the national goods business, as well as the successful „We love food“ campaign, and provides diverse impetus for the realisation of group-wide objectives. Furthermore, with its subsidiary Netto Marken-Discount, it successfully makes its mark in the discount sector. Specialist retail formats such as trinkgut, NATURKIND, and budni, the cooperation with the app-based delivery service Picnic, and the bulk consumer business with EDEKA Foodservice round off the extensive range of services offered by the corporate group. In 2025, the EDEKA group achieved a turnover of €77.3 billion with around 10,900 stores and approximately 417,500 employees. With around 20,900 apprentices, EDEKA is one of the leading trainers in Germany.
