Hamburg Commercial Bank renews partnership with Hamburg European Open
Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) is once again sponsor of the Hamburg European Open. This year, in addition to the traditional men’s tournament (12 to 18 July), Hamburg will also host a women’s tournament for the first time in 19 years. The stars of the WTA Tour will be back at Rothenbaum from 7 to 11 July. HCOB will be one of the key partners supporting both world-class tennis events.
“Tournament director Sandra Reichel has raised the bar with the Hamburg European Open, and the fact that this year – after almost two decades – the ladies are also back in Hamburg is really fantastic. Together with all of Hamburg’s tennis fans, we’re looking forward to two exciting tournaments,” said Stefan Ermisch, CEO of Hamburg Commercial Bank. As last year, the bank’s branding will be visible on the centre court and on the M1 match court, including on the players’ benches.
“We are thrilled that Hamburg Commercial Bank is sponsoring our tournament for the second year in a row. With this partnership, the commercial bank once again demonstrates its commitment to the region,” said tournament director Sandra Reichel. “Like us, it bears the city of Hamburg in its name – a sign of its deep roots here.”
The new tournament ambassador for the whole event is former top ten player Andrea Petkovic. Jan-Lennard Struff, Germany’s number two in the men’s singles, has already confirmed his participation. Advance ticket sales are scheduled to begin soon. The organisers are working closely with the health and sports departments of the city of Hamburg. The health of everyone involved is paramount.
