It was a very special backdrop for a tennis match! To mark the start of the cooperation between MatchMaker Sports GmbH and the world's largest shipping company MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, which is now the title sponsor of the Hamburg professional women's tennis tournament MSC Hamburg Ladies Open (13 to 20 July), a tennis court was created in the middle of containers in the Port of Hamburg not far from the container terminal in Waltershof.
Of course, tournament ambassador Andrea Petkovic didn't have to be asked twice and hit a few balls on the "harbour court" between the huge MSC containers in bright sunshine. Not only did this result in unique photo and video recordings, but it also became clear: "Petko" still has it!
"That was truly spectacular! We would like to thank our title sponsor MSC very much for staging this event with the help of the containers. It was a unique backdrop and a perfect start to our collaboration," said tournament director Sandra Reichel, who was delighted with the elaborate set-up for the shoot.
"The photo shoot was the ideal start to our involvement in the MSC Hamburg Ladies Open. We are looking forward to an exciting tournament in July, where spectacular rallies will once again take centre stage - against an equally impressive backdrop at the Rothenbaum," said Nils Kahn, Managing Director of MSC Germany.
