Once again this year, we are calling on tennis-loving kids, youth coaches and parents to apply for the fan block project and experience top tennis at Hamburg's Rothenbaum. The players are counting on active support and want to be cheered on loudly!
Procedure
- Ten children and young people (aged 6 to 16) and a club counsellor from a club are assigned to two players as a "fan block". The kids and young people are given access to the matches of the respective players, a T-shirt, snacks and giveaways. They have the task of cheering on their personal stars from the stands at every match while adhering to the general rules of fair play.
- A total of 32 players will be competing this year - so there will be a maximum of 16 fan blocks (as each team will receive two players). These will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
- Each fan block will have access to the centre court (separate area) for as long as its players are involved in the tournament - so there are up to seven main draw days of tennis at Rothenbaum for the entire fan block! However, this also means that the fan block must be present for up to seven days with ten kids each at the matches of their tennis star. The children and young people can rotate within a team in order to avoid time bottlenecks - so organisational skills are required.
- If the assigned player is scheduled to play on centre court, the fan group is given access to a special block. In addition, a child is drawn by lot before the match to be given access to the players' centre and allowed to run onto the court with the respective player.
- All participating fan blocks will be invited to the final on Sunday. In addition, each team member can bring a maximum of two accompanying persons (parents). The accompanying persons will each receive a discount of 50% on the ticket in the corresponding category.
- During the tournament week, our "Children for Champions" team observes and evaluates, how well you support your players. The best fan block will receive a prize.
Conditions of participation:
- Only tennis clubs are authorised to participate (no school classes).
- Only children and young people between the ages of 6 and 16 may take part.
- As a rule, there should be ten kids and one carer per fan block; in justified exceptional cases, however, there may also be six kids and two carers.
- During the fan block's stay at the facility, the chaperones are responsible as supervisors. They must be at least 18 years old.
- The fan blocks only get free access for as long as their players are active in the individual competition, which means that if both players are eliminated, there is no more free access.
- Access applies to specially designated seating blocks on the centre court or the side courts.
- Posters and fan paraphernalia should be made and brought along for cheering.
- All kids and youngsters will be provided with a T-shirt. This should always be worn on the tournament grounds.
- A one-off participation fee of €99.00 (incl. VAT) is payable per fan block (to be invoiced by MatchMaker Sports GmbH). This is a fee to cover the costs incurred by our "Children for Champions" project team on a pro rata basis.
