What a wonderful Schunk show late on Monday evening at the Rothenbaum in Hamburg. Nastasja Schunk was the first German to reach the round of 16 at the MSC Hamburg Ladies Open. The 21-year-old from Mainz defeated Moyuka Uchijima (Japan) 7:5 and 6:3. In 1:47 hours of play, Schunk impressed with her concentrated, powerful clay court game. The left-hander was particularly focussed in the decisive moments. Schunk had already won an ITF tournament on clay in Villach in May. That obviously did her confidence a world of good!
